Economic Development Highlights Mayor's State of the City

BUFFALO, NY-- Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown gave his?state of the city address?Friday afternoon.

The address took place at the Buffalo Convention Center following a luncheon.

Brown opened the address by saying "Buffalo is the strongest it has been in years."? He also said that he would not raise property taxes in?Buffalo for?2013.

Brown's address highlighted the economic development happening in the Queen City.

Among the projects mentioned:

  • Redevelopment of the Tishman Building
  • Larkin District
  • $200 million redevelopment of ECMC
  • Webster Block project by the Buffalo Sabres

Brown also announced a new multi-million dollar plan by Ellicott Development on Buffalo's waterfront.? The property, which is currently owned by the Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency, will feature a hotel, apartments, rooftop restaurant, spa, offices and parking.
