Service men and women will be honored with free admission to the Washington State History Museum on Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11, 2012. This offer is extended to veterans and active duty military personnel and is sponsored by Key Bank.
?You can?t tell Washington history without including the impact and presence of the military and our veterans,? said Steve Maxwell, President of KeyBank?s South Puget Sound District. ?That?s why we joined with the Washington State Historical Society to recognize their contribution to our community and their commitment to preserving its way of life.?
Vintage WWI posters that inspired millions to take action will be featured on Veterans Day. A program entitled ?WWI Posters and the Origins of Armistice Day? will be presented at 11 a.m. by museum education specialist and military historian Gwen Perkins.
The museum, located at 1911 Pacific Avenue, will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Nov. 11. Military ID is required. The regular military discount admission rate of $7 applies to family members.
